Thomas Ngobeni has over 20 years as a practising geologist. He started his career as a trainee geologist in 1993 employed by Goldfields of South Africa. Between the period of 1993 and 1998, he managed to complete his BSc (Hons) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and worked in several Goldfields mines during vocational period, mainly in platinum (at Northam Mine) and gold (at Kloof and Deelkraal Mines).

Thomas was appointed as a Geologist in 1998 at Beatrix Gold Mine within the Welkom goldfields. He joined Harmony Gold Mine at the Masimong 5 shaft in 2000 and was appointed Senior Geologist in 2001. In 2005, Thomas joined BHP Billiton Energy Coal South Africa (BECSA) as a Mine geologist. In 2006, Thomas was appointed Geology Manager at Douglas/Koornfein Complex Mines. In April 2007, he was seconded to Klipspruit Colliery as Geology Manager and Acting Technical Manager.

Peter Maseko has over 30 years as a practising geologist. He started his career as a Senior Laboratory Assistant at the University of Zululand before joining Rietspruit Colliery in 1985 as a Senior Geological Technician. He worked mainly working for BHP Billiton of South Africa (now South32) and was the Lead Exploration Geology.

He has vast experience in planning and execution of exploration drilling, responsible for field implementation of exploration contracts by ensuring compliance with applicable equipment and safety standards, comply with all exploration related regulatory requirements and geological modelling and resource reporting. Mr Maseko is experienced in the SAMREC and JORC reporting codes.

Mr. Leonard started his career as a Geology Learner Official with Gold Fields Training Services Trust (Goldfields SA) in 1996. He later pursued his studies and acquired Geology National Diploma from Technikon Witwatersrand (now UJ) and GDE Mining (with statistical and geostatistical evaluation of mineral resources courses) from Witwatersrand University.

He also worked for a number mining companies including reputable consultants in the industry as well as his own founded company Bazali Mining and Geo Edge (Pty) Ltd which specializes in providing technical support for small scale mining operations. He also worked for the mining companies likes Mintails SA, Sibanye Stillwater, Gold One, Village Main Reef, Drdgold, Aflease Ltd (Modder East Gold Project and Klerksdorp Uranium Project) and Camden Geoserve CC.

Leonard has a broad spectrum of skills owing to his over 20yrs experience in the industry. He has worked in deep level mines, shallow level mines, opencast operations and field exploration projects. He has occupied the junior up to senior positions through is expert abilities and high level of competency. He also completed the Foundational Management Development Programme (FMDP) with Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).

Knobbs started working for Gold Fields of South Africa (GFSA) as soon as he obtained his B.Sc. degree in 1988 as a post-graduate geologist. He remained with GFSA until 1998 when GFSA merged with Gencor and became Gold Fields Limited (GFL).
In 1990 he was appointed as a geologist and promoted to senior geologist in 1999. From 1988 to 1995 he was in the exploration division. During this time, he had extensive exposure and gained experience in various mineral deposits of Southern Africa, such as, the Natal- Namaqua Mobile Belt, Pongola Supergroup, Barberton Mountainland, Waterberg Coalfields, Bushveld Complex and the Witwatersrand Supergroup.

Knobbs was seconded to the mines in West Wits as a mine geologist. He held several senior management positions, senior geologist, head of department, mineral resources manager. He has more than 30 years’ experience as a geologist. Currently he is involved with consulting work and mining entrepreneurship.
